Chinese Restaurants?

Outside NY or CA,it is next to impossible to find great tasting Chinese anymore! 20 yrs ago they were everywhere! What happened?

I guess it is because of all the rumors(some true!)that they were serving a variety of cat and dog dishes. Many restaurants were closed down. Here where I live we have a great buffet style called China Express!

We eat there some times but since the trouble started I now make Chinese at home.

China Garden in Belmont NH is great!  Only place around that still makes Lobster Chinese Style!!  I too want to know where the good ones went.  They are becoming commercialized

I don't Know there used to be an excellent restaurant called Soo's in Westfield Ma is was terrific.

you are right.........I live in Atlanta, and the restaurants in general are crummy.  I lived in CA for 10 years and got spoiled.

and if youre eating americanized chinese good like the general tso chicken and kung pow and krud like that then yeah of course it taste like ****.

Okay my parents own a Chinese Restaurant in Wisconsin. but the issue is that NY and CA are big citites with China towns and more chinese people..and plus ppls there are more open to trying new dishes...so people serve "real" chinese there...but in smaller cities people haven't experienced too much culture so there's less people wanting to try more stuff forcing real chinese restaurants to change their style and make it chinese american restaurant...
