Chinese Taipei Open GP Gold: Jiayuan Chen tames Kwan Yi Mong in Women’s Singles first round
Singapore’s upcoming player Jiayuan Chen found a comfortable start as she reached into Women’s Singles second round after showing exit to Hong Kong’s Kwan Yi Mong in first round clash at Yonex Chinese Taipei Open GP Gold 2012 on Wednesday, October 3, in
Chinese Taipei.
The lofty Jiayuan, who has been working to make her presence felt at world stage, showed an impressive performance and remained successful in beating Kwan Yi in a smashing manner by consuming 29 minutes on court.
Jiayuan was in commanding position on court and she displayed her impressive skills with wonderful confidence which earned her victory in straight games with a comfortable margin on the board.
On the contrary, Kwan Yi played good badminton in opening points of first set but she failed to cope up with the skills and perfection of her Singaporean challenger and lost to her without grabbing any game.
The opening game was tough in starting points when both shuttlers employed all of their skills and entertained the crowd with attacking badminton.
Until the one-minute break in the opening set, it was the Singaporean shuttler who took a reasonable lead of 11-9 until the end of opening half.
After the one-minute break, Jiayuan started to set up her domination on court as she played with tremendous precision at net and stretched her lead without facing any considerable problem.
Jiayuan commanded the rallies in the ending points of first set and easily bagged it with a remarkable 21-16 score on the board.
In the following game, Jiayuan did not let her challenger to put up even a meagre resistance as she played with tremendous precision and managed to establish a smashing lead of 11-5 until the one-minute break.
After the one-minute interval, Jiayuan continued showing up her planned and positive play on court. She did not allow her rival to narrow the gap at any stage and managed to end up the set with an inspiring margin of 21-16.
The aggressive Jiayuan registered a comprehensive victory over Kwan Yi in straight sets with a comfortable 21-16 and 21-16 margin on the score board.
