Chinese Taipei Open GP Gold: Sannatasah Saniru defeats Chia Hsin Lee in Women’s Singles first round
Malaysia’s Sannatasah Saniru found a good start as she played dominating badminton and registered a decent victory over her local rival Chia Hsin Lee in Women’s Singles first round at the Chinese Taipei Open GP Gold 2012 in Chinese Taipei, on Wednesday,
October 3.
The un-seeded Sannatasah, who have been making her presence felt at world stage for the last one year, employed all of her reserves and managed to oust Chia Hsin while taking 26 minutes of court time.
Malaysia shuttler played somewhat shaky game in opening set but she managed to find her flow in the following set and remained successful in winning the contest in straight games with a reasonable score on the board.
In the meanwhile, Chia Hsin also put up strong resistance against her Malaysian challenger in first set but remained unlucky in ending points and lost the set with a close margin.
However, she failed to control the bird in the following set of the contest and eventually lost the set with a comfortable margin and crashed out in the first round.
In the first set, Chia Hsin put up a spectacular show of attacking badminton as she played with incredible speed and managed to set up an early lead over her Malaysian opponent.
The local shuttler continued her positive and fast play and managed to set up a huge lead of 11-3 until the end of first half.
After the break, Chia Hsin failed to maintain her domination as her rival started to change things around.
Sannatasah played with impressive precision and made the score equal by reaching at 15-15. She controlled the pace of rallies and took the set with a tight margin of 22-20.
In the following set, both ladies played to their maximum speed and stayed close on score board until the end of first half.
After the break, Sannatasah again occupied the driving seat and dictated Chia Hsin in all corners of the court by playing remarkable badminton.
Malaysia player was moving with impressive ease on court and managed to finish up the set with a 21-15 score on the board.
Sannatasah emerged as the winner in this opening round clash in straight sets with a decent difference of 22-20 and 21-15.
