Chinese Taipei Open GP Gold: Tai Tzu Ying sends Yip Pui Yin packing in Women’s Singles semi-final
Tai Tzu Ying, one of the most dedicated shuttlers from Chinese Taipei, put up impressive show of top class badminton and remained successful in beating Hong Kong’s Yip Pui Yin in Women’s Singles semi-final at Chinese Taipei Open GP Gold 2012 on Saturday,
October 6, in Chinese Taipei.
The top seeded Tzu Ying, who has been placed at number 12 in Women’s Singles world ranking, had to dig into her reserves in order to defeat her third seeded opponent and managed to advance into the final after finishing up the contest in 56 minutes.
Tzu Ying could not find a perfect start but she managed to overpower her rival by finishing off this semi-final contest in three games by putting up a convincing margin on the score board.
In the meanwhile, the World Number 24 Pui Yin tried her best to put up strong show and also remained successful in taking the first set.
However, the Hong Kong shuttler failed to remain consistent on court and eventually lost the following sets with an easy margin and ultimately crashed out at the top-four stage.
The first game of this contest was absolutely sensational when both shuttlers displayed with impressive skills on court and stayed close on score board until the mid-game interval.
After the break, Tzu Ying could not control the pace of rallies and remained struggling to find a good flow. She failed to play dominating badminton and lost the set with a margin of 18-21.
In the second set, Tzu Ying was everywhere on court as she played with remarkable precision and managed to stay miles ahead on score board until the mid-game interval.
The Taipei shuttler continued showing up her elevated play and she easily wrapped up the second set with a striking margin of 21-10.
In the decider, Tzu Ying continued showing up her lofty craft without showing any mercy to her lower ranked challenger and managed to finish off the set with a stunning 21-9 score on the board.
Tzu Ying won this semi-final clash in 56 minutes in three games with an interesting margin of 18-21, 21-10 and 21-9.
