Chinese Taipei Open GP Gold: Yip Pui Yin outshines Ya Ching Hsu in Women’s Singles quarter-final
Hong Kong’s Yip Pui Yin continued her staggering performance in Women’s Singles quarter-final when she defeated her lower ranked local challenger Ya Ching Hsu at the Chinese Taipei Open GP Gold 2012 on Friday, October 5, in Chinese Taipei.
The third seeded Pui Yin, who has been positioned at number 24 in Women’s Singles world ranking, played with remarkable precision and managed to win the battle in a lopsided manner by consuming just 27 minutes on court.
Pui Yin remained aggressive throughout the tournament and she did not let any of her opponents to put up strong show all the way and easily secured a place in the semi-final of the contest.
The un-seeded Ya Ching, in the meanwhile, could not put up strong show as she failed to show aggression on court and also could not manage to create even a slight pressure on her rival. She easily lost the battle with a huge margin on the board.
In the first game, Pui Yin was in remarkable form as she started her campaign in a dominating fashion and remained in complete control of the pace at opening stage.
Pui Yin dictated her rival in all areas by taking the bird early and made an impressive use of her shots in all areas of the court. She was in a remarkable position thorughout the openign set and easily managed to win it with an impressive 21-10 score on
the board.
In the second set, Pui Yin stayed slightly ahead of her challenger by playing controlled badminton and again managed to set up a reasonable gap of 11-8 until the end of opening half.
After the mid-game interval, Pui Yin continued her dominating run without showing any respect to her local challenger who could not show her brilliance at any stage.
The Hong Kong shuttler was in staggering form in the concluding part of second game and she did not face any problem in taking the set with a stunning 21-13 score on the board.
Pui Yin emerged as the winner against Ya Ching in this quarter-final contest with a one-sided score of 21-10 and 21-13.
