  1. Hi chinese is healthy but it all depends on how much you eat of it, I know you say you havent put on any weight which is good, I used to get one everyweek end and eat a whole meal to myself, I use to get boliled rice and Mushrooms with onion in a type of gravy thing, and I did put on alot of weight as rice is basically just starch so its not good for me at all, what you are having the chips curry and fried rice is probably on of the most unhealthy things you can get in a chinese but if you are not putting on any weight gain then keep eating it I say.

The other alternative would be to have a portion of boiled rice etc and replace the fried rice and chips and just have more rice with your curry sauce.

Since I am pregnant I have gone of chinese alot, but have been trying it on and off again during my pregnany but only having half the amount I would have and it satisfies my hunger.

Keep eating what you like as it doesnt seem to be effecting you if you have been eating it for years and still no weight gain then its perfectly fine, its when your like me and eating too much and putting on weight when you should cut back.

  2. yea all that isnt that healthy.

i would say just get something that has veggies in it. steamed veggies or something you could probably even get some curry sauce on the veggies. and if you cant do without rice, get brown steamed rice, not fried.

chinese food can be good for you but it seems that in america everything has to be covered in grease or something and a lot of chinese restuarants "americanize" their food.

  3. mixed veg with bamboo shoots and water chestnuts with boild rice

  4. For healthy dishes, you want something with a lot of vegetables that isn't deep fried.  You want a light sauce, not a heavy, creamy sauce.  The curry, chips, and fried rice doesn't sound healthy to me.  However, if you only do it once every couple of weeks, and you eat fairly healthy the rest of the time, indulge.

And if it's an option, ask for brown rice instead of white, as brown rice is healthier.

  5. Most chinese take aways use beef or chicken stock in most of their dishes.

  6. beansprouts my friend, beansprouts all the way.

  7. if you enjoy the food then eat what you want and enjoy it.  after all its only 2 nights a week and everyone deserves a treat don't they?????????

  8. Chow mein is healthy and low in fat. Also, maybe you should take a look at what the Chinese people themselves eat and try that, It's usually quite different and not as fattening as the menu food.

I'm a bit of a 3 in 1 addict myself so I feel you pain. Try a 2 in 1 instead with just boiled rice and the curry sauce, cutting out the chips can't do you any harm and you'll get used to it.

  9. noodles, beansprouts, vegetable curry, rice, a lot of chinese food is pretty healthy...how may large chinese people do you know?

  10. Well, if you work there, you've probably got some idea of how the food is prepared, so it's easier to go for healthy choices (and don't say you've got no willpower - if I gave you a million in unmarked notes to have the will to resist something, would you have it then?) :)

You could say have a stir fry with brown rice (boiled, not fried), with just a little veggie oil in the stir frying process. Pretty healthy for you, and without the fat and calories of some of the unhealthier options. A little soy sauce on top (only a little, cause of the salt) and voila!

  11. boiled rice and curry sauce

chips are bad and fried rice is bad so your 3 in 1 is bad
