  1. Hi,

Chinese food have the following bad affects on your teeth :

    1. They use too much vinegar (acetic acid) that might over time cause chemical erosion, leading to loss of enamel

    2. They use MSG (Monosodium glutamate) [sometimes also called "tasting salt"] that can lead to cancer

    3. They steam food most of the time. As a result, the vegetables remain very crunchy (Yumm!!!). But chewing that kind of food all the time causes problems consistent with clenching and / or grinding. That leads to attrition with loss of enamel also. The following article will help in understanding the damages caused with such excess force :

In 15 years of my practicing dentistry I have seen well over 500 Chinese patients. Almost all of them suffer from periodontal disease and severe attrition of teeth.

NOTE : Home made Chinese food will only eliminate the MSG because you do not necessarily have to use it. Cooking Chinese food will still require using Vinegar and steaming the vegetables.

  2. if you eat in a restaurant, you will have all the stuff mentioned above. But home made Chinese food is safe.
