I just watched part of the olympics and noticed for the first time that a chinese gymnast Yang Yilin is only 15. I thought u had to be 16 to be a part of the gymnastics part of the olympics... Could this have been an error with the network showing her name and age improperly, or is there another explanation?

  1. the young one has been approved by IOC.. amidst protests saying not 2 treat her as a slave.. coz she is very young to risk her life in gymnasts

  2. they have 12 and 13 year old slave athletes.

  3. those chinesse gymnastics arent even 16 yrs old.ey are really 8 and 9 yrs old.

  4. With all the other deceptions China has perpetrated, there is no way those girls are 16 or even 15. All they want to do is win and for it to be seen globally as a sign of national strength.

  5. they can compete in the olympics if they turn 16 the calendar year of the olympics. like they might be 15 now but if their birthday is on Sept 5, they can still compete because they will be turning 16.

  6. go to http://multimedia.olympic.org/pdf/en_rep...

I did read as "There is no age limit for competing in the Olympic Games, except for those that may be imposed by individual IFs for health reasons. In some sports, such as equestrian, fencing and sailing, athletes can enjoy very long Olympic careers, sometimes as long as 40 years!"
