Chinese gymnasts in previous World competitions?

What I can't understand about the whole Chinese gymnasts age controversy is how no one has seen them before, or if they had, they were said to be born in 1993 or 1994. How can they suddenly be 16? Surely if they'd participated in previous international world competitions, there would be sufficient evidence, right? What are Yahoo community's thoughts?

  1. They have been in previous international competitions.  Using the ages provided for those competitions they would be too young to compete in the Olympics.

The IOC is a joke.  Its obvious they don't want to do anything that might make the Chinese look bad.  But they can rip a guy celebrating his world records and complete domination of his events without cheating.  If he can jog 20 m of a 100 m race and still set a world record they should be out there kissing his butt not crying that he showed up the other 7 guys he ran against.
