  2. Chinese!

Considering the international situation, you will find China's influence on the world is more and more now.

There are a lot of the cultural heritage of humanity in China.

And there are also lots of beautiful and useful things in China.Chinese culture is extensive and profound with 5,000 years of history.

The Chinese Ethnic Cultures is very extensive and profound!SO I think Chinese is a good choice.

  3. chinese cause once they take over u can beg for ur life..... hate those commi b******s

  4. german

  5. Chinese

  6. Economics? I'd go with Chinese- there are many, many situations in business in which Chinese would be incredibly useful. American companies are constantly making deals with Chinese businesses, and China is a very fast emerging economic force.

  7. if you really think you can stick with the language you choose, you should choose chinese. china has a very rapid growing economy so it can come in handy. German is fun and i really enjoyed it but for you chinese is probably going to be more useful. as long as u stick with it like i said. it wouldnt matter if u take if for two years and quit u will forget it all if not using it

  8. Chinese of course, there're many more people in the world speaking Chinese than Germany. Besides, German is one of the hardest langugage to study in the world. I took it for six years and still only can remember a tiny bit like ordering food. The only language with three genders.

  9. Where do you live?  I'd take the language which more people in your country or in neighboring countries speak.

If you want to do work overseas, I'd say Chinese since China has become such a big player in business these days.

  10. I'd go with Chinese. China is really becoming a market competition... in fact, it's probably going to be one of the superpowers soon. I bet America and China will be the top countries soon, and then China might overshadow America one day.

  11. german........

  12. Good question.  Strictly from the point of view of which is more helpful for commerce, Chinese might be better.

Another consideration might be difficulty.  German is closely related to English, whereas Chinese is completely unrelated.  There are a lot of similarities, including cognates (words that are similar) between English and German that you won't find between English and Chinese.  That makes it a lot harder to wing it in a tough spot with a word you don't know, for instance.

Also be aware that Chinese is highly dependent on tone.  (A given dialect of) Chinese will have a word (say "ma") that means maybe five completely different things depending how you say it.  If you're tone-deaf or have trouble making out the differences in tone, you'll have a hard time with Chinese.

Also you have alphabetic differences.  Obviously German uses the same alphabet as English, whereas Chinese is something else again.

I'm not trying to push you toward German, just pointing out that Chinese will be more challenging.  My hunch is that Chinese will be more helpful if you can master it well.  But of course you'll have to decide for yourself.
