Chinese players at the Ladies British Masters
This year is the inaugural year for the ISPS Handa Ladies British Masters. The tournament has attracted top talent from all over the world. Chinese players are the highlight of the entry list of the tournament.
The most important Chinese player to attend the event is Xin Ying Wang. She comes from the Chinese capital, Beijing, and is the youngest player on the entry list. The 13-year-old is a rising star of the Chinese national team and is already a popular name
in the amateur world.
She was invited by LET to play in the various tournaments hosted by the tour. Her first stop was a LET Access Series tournament. LET Access Series is the training tour, sponsored by the LET.
Xin Ying Wang played in the LET Access Series Women´s Bank Open, held in Finland. She lived up to her reputation and tied for the third place. This is an amazing performance from a player who has never played in Europe before.
The next player is Yu Yang Zhang, who made headlines this year being the first Chinese player to get a full LET card. She is another Chinese player that is expected to move up the rankings quickly. So far this year, she has failed to post any significant
score on her record.
The final name is the 16-year-old Xi Yu Lin who recently turned professional. She had a great career as an amateur and as a professional. She is working her way up in the LET rankings. So far, she has not added any wins to her record.
Her best performance was her qualifying for the 2011 US Open. She also finished fifth in the Sanya Ladies Open 2011, which is co-sanctioned by LET.
Just a few years ago, the Chinese players were a rare occurrence in European tournaments. However, this has changed in the recent events where Chinese players competed in both amateur and professional capacity.
Players like Shanshan Feng and Yu Yang Zhang are now a regular fixture of many LET events.
China is full of golf talent and these three players will have excellent opportunity to highlight this talent at the Ladies British Masters.
