I heard that the Chinese government has put a load of rules into place, but I can't find a website about them (go figure).

One that I heard is that spectators can't wear more than three colours in their outfit

  1. The Chinese government blocks websites within China. If you're in America and you can't find the information you want to see, then please be reasonable and accept that it's just a bunch of rumors. Next thing you know, people would be accusing the Chinese of rigging all the world championships or something. I think this anti-China thing is going too far.

  2. Yes, the governing of websites and certain information are true.  But, there is a reason the Chinese Government are doing that.  It is essential for them because that's the only way to maintain peace and order for 1.3 billion people.  At least for now, that's why they are very anti-government protest because they don't want disorder or chaos to start.  You can't blame them, no one will ever understand how to govern that many people.  Only China will know how difficult it is to keep peace for the largest population in the world.

And that's the reason why the Chinese government regulate their media so much.  But things are changing for the better.  They are gradually becoming more open with web contents.  Give them some time, their border has only been opened for 30 years.  Every thing is changing extremely fast for them, the government is doing the right thing.

Other nations that criticize the Chinese government on their policies simply do not (and will not) understand how difficult it is to govern 1.3 billion people.  Especially when majority of the people are in poverty.

    Peace
