Chipper Jones gives bat and cap to National Baseball Hall of Fame after playing All-Star game-MLB
After playing his eighth All-Star game on Tuesday, the Atlanta Braves Chipper Jones donates bat and cap to National Baseball Hall of Fame. These will be exhibited in Cooperstown, NY on July 20.
The fact Jones went through his last All-Star appearance, significance of the bat used by him can be realised. Even more so, Jones struck a base-hit in the game.
This will further make these things a source of fans’ attraction for years to come.
Ever since Jones has declared retirement after this season, he has become one of the hottest topics for discussion. The fans are inspired by the excellence he maintained over the years. A kind of run production machine he has been for the last two decades
is something that makes him an ideal candidate for Future Hall of Fame.
Furthermore, the Braves are also growing conscious of how Jones served the club for years and remained its part throughout the career. With his last season approaching an end, the preparations are underway as to how the organisation will privilege him in
the farewell ceremony.
In this regard, Atlanta plans to hold a ceremony before their last home series against the New York Mets on September 28 to acknowledge Jones. A gathering will be called up to make Jones feel what he means to the club.
Meanwhile, Jones appears to be content with his baseball career. A reflection of it could be observed when Jones assumed the plate on Tuesday. A continuous smile on his face and an active response to the fans by him across the stadium lightened up the day.
Furthermore, he took his helmet off and showed it to the spectators and to the All-Stars sitting in the club-house, who were cheering and enjoying his penultimate moments as an All-Star. Similarly, while he reached first base, a roar of applause erupted.
Right now, Jones has a huge role to play as the second half of the season starts. Putting aside the effect of the extravaganza on July 10, he will be focusing on how to take the Braves forward in the next half.
