Chips Are Down up for the Rooftop Restaurant At Gowran Park Nursery
Eight two-year-old will race over seven furlongs in the Rooftop Restaurant At Gowran Park Nursery on Wednesday, 15th August at Gowran Park. The prize money set for the juveniles is €6,900.
The strongest link among the entries is the two-year-old bay colt, Chips Are Down who started racing just this season and has won twice out of the six outings that he undertook. The worst that has been posted on his profile is the third position.
Ad Valorem’s son failed to clear the maiden at the first asking of the season as he ended second in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 2YO Maiden over five furlongs at Tipperary on 19th April, 2012.
Breaking the maiden successfully was the favourite entry, Katchy Lady.
After failing for two more times in the attempt to break his maiden, the two-year-old Irish bay colt won the Parfit Mobility Vehicles Supporting Kare Nursery Handicap on 21st July, 2012 at Curragh over six furlongs.
He won the race in partnership with, Conor Hoban, by a slight neck’s margin. He made the most out of the final 100 yards and shoved Desert Of Dreams into the runner-up’s position.
Finishing third in line was the favourite entry of the race, Einsteins Folly.
The next stop of the two-year-old out of, Missperon, was in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Nursery Handicap on 4th August, 2012 at Galway over seven furlongs.
The Michael Mulvany trained missed the race by the margin of 3 ¼ lengths while the race was won by, Cest Notre Gris. Ending the race third in line was, Einsteins Folly.
The Ladies Day At Sligo 9th August Nursery Handicap on 8th August, 2012 at Sligo over 6 ½ furlongs saw the two-year-old winning by the margin of ¾ of a length.
Even though he was prominent throughout the race, it was two furlongs out that brought him in contention with the opponent, Randall’s Alannah. Taking refuge in the third position was, Bedecked.
The bay colt will ride with jockey, Conor Hoban, today. The duo has drawn the second gate to race from. The rest of the line-up does not have much to offer and thusly Chips Are Down should make the most out of it.
