who should I see first? I cannot move my neck. When I move my head to the left right or up or down it really hurts BAD. I hurt the lower part of my back many years ago and the chiropractor was right on that one and the doctor was wrong a neursurgen told me that, but I cannot remember which on I had seen first or which one I should see first. Should I just go to the chiropractor first?

  1. How about your PCP and then go see a orthopedic for the neck?  That is what I would do.  You really have to see a GOOD Chiropractor  because some of them are questionable, just like doctors.  Just know who you are dealing with.  I went to one and he screwed up my back and I had to have surgery (which, it took a year to heal) just because he thought he knew best.  I know not all is bad but just be careful.  From now on I check out every doctor I do to on our state web site to see what problems they have had or law suits.

  2. I disagree with the other guy, but I'm biased because I have a WONDERFUL Chiropractor. [And they are doctors too, btw.]

I would check out your Chiropractor...but make sure he's a good one. It's ultimately up to you where you go first, but MDs usually talk trash about chiropractic and yours would suggest that you just don't go. As you know, Chiropractic involves therapies and manipulations. Everything is natural, as opposed to a medical doctor where they'd probably just give you pills that only temporarily alleviate the pain. Again, it's obviously up to you...but natural is always the safer way to go. Surgery should always be the last resort, because it's permanent. I wish you lived in the KCMO area, then you could come see mine...he's great. :)

    Hope that helps!
