Practically every Olympic squad has a group of physiotherapists on standby to help their team. How many countries use chiropractors at the Olympics, if any? And why do you think this is?

  1. This is changing. I know the UK olympci team has a team of Osteopaths and possibly a chiropractor. They also have massage therapists and other healthcare profesionals.

In New Zealand where, I practice, Osteopaths have an input and possibly Chiropractors as well.

It's likely the team s that use them would be in the English speaking world although the Scandinavian teams may have chiropractors as they are well respected there.

I'd be very surprised if the US and Canadian teams didn't carry Chiro's.

The reason why would be because in these countries Chiro's are well established and regulated. In many countries this isn't the case so a team managing elite athletes won't take on unregulated practitioners. Where Chiros aren't well estabished they would struggle to convince anyone to take them on as most people wouldn't understand what they do.
