Chloe Sutton earns gold in the women’s 800m free final: 2011 Charlotte UltraSwim
Mission Viejo's Chloe Sutton won the Women’s 800m free title with a sterling time of 8:31.20 minutes at the 2011 Charlotte UltraSwim in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sunday, May 15.
Andreina Pinto of Gator earned the second place honours with a winning time of 8:33.37 minutes, while Camryne Morris of NBAC captured the bronze by clocking the swim in 8:39.18 minutes in the meet yesterday.
After the race, Sutton was immensely delighted and pleased due to her most intriguing and versatile performance in the 800m free final at Charlotte last night.
On the other hand, Missy Franklin clinched the golden crown in the women’s 200m backstroke with a sterling time of 2:08.36.
“I’m super happy. I just love coming to these meets,” said Franklin.
Elizabeth Pelton of NBAC earned second in 2:09.36 minutes, while Therese Svendsen of SMU finished third in time of 2:13.27 minutes.
“I’ve taken away so much from these experiences,” said Franklin, who won a pair of silver medals at the world short-course championships last December in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
“It’s my goal to learn as much as I can . . . As opposed to two years ago, when I was completely scared out of my mind, I’m a lot more comfortable now.”
Ricky Berens ripped off 49.46 seconds for the Men’s 100m free title. Meanwhile, Scot Robinson of New South took home the silver crown with a distinctive time of 49.90 second and Davis Tarwater of SwimMAC rounded out the top three in 50.19 second.
Berens felt a huge sigh of relief after the accomplishment of the 100m freestyle final match at Charlotte in North Carolina on Sunday.
In the Men’s 1500m free final, Ryan Feeley of Badger clinched the gold medal with a winning time of 15.27.04 minutes. On the other side, Sean Ryan of Scenic City placed second with a time of 15:32.87 minutes and Joseph Arnold of Mission Viejo earned third
place honours with a time of 15:34.77 minutes in the following meet.
In the women’s 400m medley relay final, Brittany MacLean, Tera Van Beilen, Paige Schultz and Victoria Chan of Swim Ontario took home the golden crown with a remarkable time of 4:15.94 minutes, while Nick Thoman, Nelson Westby, Davis Tarwater and Eugene Godsoe
of SwimMAC captured the men's 400m medley relay title with a winning time of 3:43.27 minutes at Charlotte. Both the winners were immensely delighted by their overall performances in the 400m medley relay finals last night.
Rebecca Soni of the United States of America won the jackpot of US$20000 in the Charlotte UltraSwim along with a Grand Prix Pointwinner Award. Missy Franklin captured the top second prize US$10000 award, while Eric Shanteau snared the top three prize US$5,000
award.
