Chloe Sutton grabs Women’s 800m freestyle gold – Swimming news
Chloe Sutton of Mission Viejo-CA grabbed gold medal of Women’s 800m freestyle on opening day of the 2013 CA TYR Fran Crippen Memorial in Mission Viejo Nadadores, California on Thursday, June 6.
The 21-year-old Sutton devastated hopes of his opponents in the 800m discipline as he sprinted his way towards the finishing wall for gold medal.
With his commendable efforts, Sutton stayed prominently ahead of his challengers as he transpired on the finishing end for the title with an effort of 8 minutes and 28.19 seconds.
A Steenvoorden of Minnesota-MN, who was almost five seconds slower and stepped on the victory stand for silver medal by producing an effort of 8 minutes and 33.24 seconds, chased the champion.
Ashley Twichell of Mission Viejo-CA, who was nearly nine seconds apart and occupied bronze medal of the race by posting a time of 8 minutes and 42.87 seconds, obtained third finest spot of the race.
Tristin Baxter of Unat-ASU-AZ, who stayed 0.15 seconds slower and emerged on the finishing end for fourth place by posting a time of 8 minutes and 43.02 seconds, chased the third best finisher.
Fifth position of the event was obtained by Kiera A Janzen of Minnesota-MN, who was 5.97 seconds apart and settled on the finishing wall with the timing of 8 minutes and 48.99 seconds.
The 20-year-old Janzen was chased by Kat McLaughlin of Mission Viejo-CA, who was three seconds slower and remained prominent for sixth position of the event with an effort of 8 minutes and 51.54 seconds.
Seventh spot of the discipline was obtained by Tabith Baumann of Team Canada, who was one and a half body length behind and ended his race in a time of 8 minutes and 52.95 seconds.
Eighth position of the event was secured by Megan K Rankin of Unat-GWSC-CA, who was 0.56 seconds apart and hit the wall with the timing of 8 minutes and 53.51 seconds.
Furthermore, Sutton was extremely overjoyed with his scintillating form in the 800m event while the position holders were invited on the podium for medals and accolades after the race.
