  1. The chlorine in your pool and ammonia applied are probably not high enough to cause a chemical reaction.

Chlorine degrades in your pool over time due to air, light etc.

Just don't add more chlorine to your pool before dumping it onto a field, might not be that good for the plants in field either.

    Once dumped into the field,

much of the chorine will quickly degrade or go into the air.

You probably don't want to fertilize at the same time anyways to avoid a chemical load or possible hypersensitivity in plant.

Probably avoid doing anything that involves doing more than one thing at once, until you know that it is O.K.

If you have a large field and lots of time and money invested.

You might want to set up a test plot to try various things on it before doing it on the actual field.

  2. the chlorinated water will dechlorinate with the addition of organic materials.  If the concentration is low like it is in a swimming pool the rice straw itself should remove the free chlorine and you will not get harmful concentrations of chlorine in the atmosphere

  3. Clorinated water is not the best for plants, but at the concentraitons you are talking about, it is unlikely to cause any problems with clorine gas.
