now i can see clearly, but things 3 feet away seem like to be vibrating.

have you ever looked at something shaking very fast??

thats how i see.

my dad says im dehydrated so i am drinking water and salt.

and also the pool seems to be extra chlorinated.

so doctors or nurses or people who have this effect in common please help me. btw: im 12 if that helps

  1. Your dad is probably right.

I have a friend whho went swimming so much once that her hair turned slightly green from the chlorine.

  2. If you knew that safe chlorine levels are 1-3ppm with 5 max and that the water you swam in exceeded that would you still swim?

It also takes about 3 hours to mix the water after adding chemicals.  The pool owner should know this as it affects the safety of his guests.  But on the same hand I have heard about people who turn their green pool blue the day before a forth of July pool party barbecue and think it is OK!

The other condition is quite common and caused by too little chlorine and too much organic matter in the water.  This situation can cause stinging of the eyes, nose, throat and other mucus membranes.  It is a temporary condition and will go away shortly.

If the vibration you are talking about goes with the beat of your heart, I would agree with your dad and suspect dehydration.  But tell your folks if it does not get better, you may need to see your doctor!

    You're welcome!!

  3. Those do sound like effects from swimming without goggles. Wear goggles next time and that should help. If this persists for more than a day, head to an eye doctor.

As for the dehydration, you don't need to drink salt and water (although it won't hurt). You can drink Gatorade or Powerade, it tastes a little better than saltwater and will replenish your electrolytes just as well.
