I am going swimming next week and had blonde streaks put into my hair about a month ago. I was just wondering if I didn't wear a swimming cap would the chlorine do anything to my hair???

  1. The chlorine in the water will make your blond ones greenish and does a little bleaching to the other colors.

  2. It can if you don't rinse your hair out right before and after.

Also, I use this redken cleansing shampoo and it gets all the green out of my hair. I have natural blonde hair, and it turns greenish sometimes.

  3. Well those streaks you had put in.. what happens there is that they strip the natural colour out of your hair entirely... so this makes it pretty fragile... I swimregularly in a squad... whatever kind of hair you have... you need to shampoo it and use conditioner and this will sort of help... but it isnt enough .... you should use a spray on and leave in treatment following swimming.

The swimming cap does didley squat to spare you from these consequences.

  4. A couple times won't hurt. But if you're going like everyday, then that may be a concern. Just chill everyone, it's not that bad. Use a leave in conditioner right after you shower. It'll be fine.

  5. Yes, of course... It will damage your hair... That's why there are shampoos or other products that will condition back your hair...
