  1. the absolute best remedy for chlorine bothering the eyes is to put milk in them. everyone thinks it souds so weird and gross but trust me it works. there is an agent in the milk that counteracts the acid which burns and irritates the eyes and it works immediately. it doesnt sting or burn to put it in, it feels the same as putting water in your eyes. trust me. i was a swimmer and played water polo for about 8 years and i did this after EVERY single practice.

  2. Call a doctors office and see if it's something to get looked at or if they have any home remedies.

  3. dont worry it happens often. it happens to me too and i have been a swimmer for 14 years. just put some eyedrops and wait for it to pass. and next time wear goggles.

  4. It wont be worse for you than anyone else.  If you open your eyes under water a lot and ther chlorine is strong it will make your eyes sore but if it was definitely bad for your vision they wouldn't allow pools to use it.

  5. I don't think it was the chlorine but chloramine. Small concentrations cause irritation of the eyes and mucus membranes.  Chloramine is caused by too much organic matter in the water and not enough chlorine.  It is removed by super chlorinating the water to burn off this ammonia compound.

Goggles would help and the irritation will pass.

    You're welcome!!
