  1. The sure fire way to figure out if the shower water is chlorinated is to take a sample and test it.  Test kits are available at any pool supply store and are reasonably cheap.

I doubt that anybody is intentionally chlorinating their showers.  Tap water does have some chlorine added to it, but by the time it gets to the consumer the levels are minute.

  2. Most municipal water systems use chlorine or chloramines (organic compounds of chlorine) to help sanitze the drinking water supply.  Water from your tap or in your shower will have trace amounts of chlorine at a much lower level than in the swimming pool.  Not enough to worry about in any case.

Chlorine Gas is toxic and a dangerous poisen.  The Chlorine-compounds in your tap water are not at a dangerous level.  It is very exceptionally rare that some one has a reaction to the chlorine in pool water which has significantly more chlorine-compounds in it than does tap water.  You may find a number of web sites out there claiming that the chlorine in your tap water is dangerous.  They all want to sell you expensive filters.  They are not telling the whole truth, slanting the facts in order to frighten people into buying their hokum products.

    Seriously!

  3. You should be able to smell the chlorine,if there's alot of it.
