what are the evidences that proves that the chlorophylls are the absorbers of light energy used in photosynthesis?

  1. The answer to your question reminds be of the experiments I have done in my school in India 10 yrs back. The Leafchromatography experiment is a good example.

    Even the flourescent experiment is also good example. This is what I remembered. You have to grind the leaf with alcohol ( Not remebering the exact conc.) and then pour the extract to a testutbe and take it to a very dark room and use a torch light to pass light from the top and you could see a very nice color of light passing from the testtube. The chlorophyll pigments absorb the light and emits back. When You take them to the dark they would remain inactive. It's amazing.


  2. chlorophyll is the green pigment of plants, it makes the plant green. it is that and the cell walls that plant cells have that animal cells don't.  Sorry for the short answer thats all I can remember
