  1. its the green pigment found in plants

  2. it is a green pigment

in most plants. this pigment is dominant over the carotenoids (brown, yellow, orange). that is why, trees are mostly green most of the time esp. in summer and spring

the chlorophyll is in the chloroplasts

it helps in photosynthesis by asorbing the sunlight

the green sea algae/seaweed of the phylum chorlophyta has this pigment

  3. i dont know much but i know that chlorophyll is the compound that gives plants their green color.  it absorbs light.  this is important because light is necessary for photosynthesis.  photosynthesis is when plants make glucose (food) using the light that the chlorophyll absorbs.
