Question:

Chocolate and candy for vegetarians?

I'm looking for chocolate and candy brands (such as what you'd find at a local grocery store like Reeses, Hersheys...) that do not contain animal ingredients such as gelatin, etc. I can only find lists online that are completely vegan, but I'm okay with dairy and honey.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

  1. both Sourpatch Kids and Swedish Berries are gelatine-free. As are Jelly Belly gummy bears, although they do contain shellac.

M&Ms, Reeses Pieces, etc. are gelatine free, although I do know that the manufacturer of M&Ms does some really obscene animal testing involving M&Ms, I don't know if that would factor into your decision.

And you can eat vegan candy, even if you aren't vegan.

  2. You could try munching out on those fruity bites or those fruit filled things like cereal instead. I forget the name. Not sure if they still have them.

Or could could mix yourself up some natural yogurt with honey circle swirled lightly with nuts on top.

  3. Greens+ Energy Bar.  www.greensplus.com.

the chocolate bar is AMAZING and has tons of nutritional benefits.  I eat atleast one a day.  If you have a Whole Foods near you go there and get one.

  4. Any dark chocolate bar that doesn't contain milk or whey are vegan, Also ClifBars are vegan, but there mostly like food supplement bars! and they come in different flavor. My personal favorite is Chocolate Peanut Butter.

  5. I, also, found a lot of links for vegan-friendly candy. The only thing I could find was that Mars candy bars (and candy, uh, products [ex. M&Ms]) are vegetarian in the US (not UK).
