  1. Do you want to do fruit?? Have you thought of covering marshmallows and topping with a cherry to make it look like a little xmas pudding.  I love them though you would not eat a lot of them. Otherwise strawberries are just in season now... thought can be a little expensive in some shops.  Good luck.

  2. If you have sweet orange slices, they are amazing when chocolate covered.

best fruit I ever had that was chocolate covered.

    Banana's are also nice.

  3. It's really better to use out of season strawberries for this purpose. Ripe in season ones are too soft and too sweet, and have such intense flavor that doesn't really go well with the chocolate. The sharp acid of less ripe strawberries goes well with the chocolate. Besides, there are some good brands farmed overseas that aren't too bad. They're not eating strawberries, but chocolate dipped they're rather nice.

Apples and bananas don't work well. Bananas because whole is to clumsy, sliced won't stick well. Same goes for apples.

That said, truffles aren't much harder. Chocolate raspberry is classic.

10 oz chocolate (tollhouse morsels is fine, and a 12 oz package will work)

    6 tbsp butter

Melt these in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second increments, mixing well each time the microwave stops (every 30 seconds). Keep heating and mixing until smooth and silky and no lumps left.

Add 1/3 cup seedless raspberry jam

2 tbsp raspberry liquor (chambord, but this is optional)

Mix well. Cover and refrigerate 4 hours or more. When ready to make truffles, sift some cocoa powder in a small bowl (a few tablespoons, sifting more if you need it to finish the truffles) Use a melon baller or small ice cream scoop, or even 2 teaspoons, using the spoons to shape them into something close to a small round ball (although they're named after a knobbly fungus, so looking oddly shaped is a benefit here! Tell them you were being authentic!). About the size of a large grape is good. As you finish each one, roll in the cocoa powder and place on a plate. When they're all done, place in the fridge until ready to package up and deliver.

  4. I definately think bananas. The creaminess of the bananas goes perfectly with the smoothness and richness of chocolate! If you wanted to make it super healthy then you could coat the bananas in dark chocolate!

  5. marshmellows

  6. Go to baker supply, buy cooking chocolate, melt them in double boiler, or microwave oven, and coat any fruit that you can get easily. Good luck

  7. what about grapes and cherries? Strwaberries are always a good option but I think try get creative with any types of fruit.

  8. banana's sound nice

  9. I prefer strawberries, but cherries will work too.

  10. Banana's are good, but many people dont like them. You could try strawberries. If you did a variety of fruits and some dipped in chocolate that would be good! Try graham crackers...and some cookies might taste good too! Good luck!

  11. If I were you I would borrow someones fondue machIne. If not then strawberrIes, bananas, apples, pretzels, marshmellows, cherrIes, tangerInes, and grahm crackers. ugh Im gettIng hungry just thInkIng about Its. yummo hope thIs helps.

  12. we made chocolate covered strawberries and marshmallows once

melt chocolate in microwave at 10 second intervals. after 10 seconds remove from microwave, stir and place back into microwave for another 10 seconds (do this until fully melted)

dip strawberries/marshmallows into chocolate and place onto separate plate. (for decoration sprinkle 100's and 1000's onto chocolate before it sets)

the chocolate should harden on their own. if u want, you can place them in the fridge for a while for it to be cold

im not sure if this will work for other fruits but you can always try !

    =]

(PS. melting the chocolate at regular intervals ensures that the chocolate will not burn. {{yes. chocolate will burn}} )

  13. Dried apricots are really good when dipped in chocolate, and they're nice bite sized treats :) Also nuts like almonds or pecans. Using dried fruit is always good because they're already cured and don't necessarily need refrigeration after you've put chocolate on them.
