Chocolate fountain. is it a good business to start up?

will i have a good business if i buy a fountain and hire it out? i see the fountains are from £800 to £2,500 which one to start with do i purchase? i am thinking of a website and flyers in hotels etc.

  1. Once tried the confections at a chocolate fountain.  Chocolate tasted like watered down hershey's syrup.  It was awful.  won't sample it again.

    What about chocolate fondue?  yum


  2. At shows they usually charge £2-3 pounds per serving.

    You'll need a van to get it there.

    You'll need a tent and a stall.

    You'll need to buy chocolate, oil, strawberries, doughnuts, fudge, skewers and plates etc.

    You may have to pay to set up at the venue.

    Then X% of your profits go to the man.

    Not sounding that great is it?

  4. It can make a good sideline but don't rely on it, trades not bad in the summer but we get very little in the way of orders for the half the year. It's also a good idea to check if someone has already got the market in your area as the profit margins aren't great so the last thing you need is to enter into a bidding war.
