I'm getting married in July and I want a chocolate fountain, has anyone tried different ones and could tell me which one is the best ? I'm thinking of either buying a medium size one or renting a big one (in France though cause the wedding is in France). also what type of chocolate do you reckon I should use and how much ? there will be about 80 people at the dinner.

  1. about 12 big cabury bars throw in some strawberrys

  2. Yuk!! Sorry, I just think these things are so unhygienic!! Just the thought of so many people breathing germs over it....not to mention all those 'clever' ones that just won't be able to resist sticking grubby fingers in the flowing chocolate! Ugh!

  3. I would say that thorntons do the best chocolate for fountains. Dont forget to soak your skewers in some warm water and dry them off before serving as otherwise there is a risk of them splintering.

Try and use some whole strawberries, chunks of pineapple and orange slices, they look good dipped in. These can be messy things to have for functions especially where there might be children, you may need more than one depending on numbers.

  4. They are very unhygenic- people l**k the forks and then put them back into the chocolate . YUK!

  5. good ice cream

  6. i have 1 you also need oil for the fountain like vegetable oil to add to the chocolate to keep it running smoothly good luck

  7. Smashing idea! I would use Belgian Chocolate and fresh berries, pineapple and cake and dessert cheese chunks. I would also have my caterer deal with it were I you.

  8. thortans choclate do great for choclate foundations but also normal choclate goes great!

  9. i realy wouldnt bother, their very messy ....imagine getting that on your white dress nightmare, you can guarantee there will be somone acting like a right pig putting their fingers etc in it.u also have to use oil with it to keep the chocolate flowing properly ewwww all that colestrol yuk no thanks

  10. They are fun, but make certain it is very stable and that kids aren't running around it.  At a wedding I attended, someone caught it just in time as it was about to be hurled to the floor.

  11. Chocolate fountain are so cool my cousin had one at her wedding just be careful chocolate on a white dress is a mess

  12. ABSOLUTELY rent one.  These fountains are notorious for not always working properly.  If you rent, the renters are responsible to replace/get it working.  Plus they can help supply the chocolate.  Remember the thing will need a plug so plan accordingly (no tripping, yikes)  If you are having the party catered, you show let them know you want them to monitor the thing..
