  1. Hi.

The main reason is what they are advertising: the chocolate not the wrapper.

They don't want you to see a galaxy advert and think 'ooooh what a nice shiny wrapper i'll buy it'. They want you to see the smooth, rich, melting, heavenly chocolate they sell and think*drooling* 'galaxy........gaaaaalaaaaxyyyyyyy.....m... and go and buy some.

Of course they need you to know what the wrapper looks like so you can buy it, but you could probably find the choclate instore anyways if you knew the brand.

Consumers these days are getting all-the-more pernickity about teh food they buy. With the prices of everything going up, so do standards set buy buyers: they want to see what they are buying. Adverts showing you their chocolate and exactly how much you get are far more appealing to people being careful with money, or just people trying to be wise and only buy products that look and taste great...not just taste alone.

You also have to ask yourself why you buy the chocolate. Is it because it comes in a nice reflective wrapper that is ultimately going to end up ripped and in the bin, or the taste of heaven melting in your mouth. The latter, i think you'll agree.

In a nutshell, even if cadbury, galaxy, and lindt all had the exact same wrapper you would still buy the one that you love best because it tastes nice...not stand in the shop thinking 'oh i don't know which one to buy...they all have such shiiiiiiiiny wrappers!'

    Hope this helps!

p.s. i wish we got assignments on chocolate!

  2. That new cadbury`s advert takes the "biscuit", a load of vehicles racing along a run way. absolute rubbish. They tried using Queen`s "don`t stop me now", which made a comeback due to "Sean of the Dead". Not like an advertiser to jump on the band wagon.

  3. because to engage the audience you need something that will keep them there. if the name of the chocolate or packaging isnt there, then they will want to know who it is and what it is. hense why they leave it until the end.

  4. Who wants to eat the wrapper. Galaxy chocolate is smooth and funky shapes so it appeals.

Toblerone advert incorporates the bar as a bridge. Showing the chocolate at all time..

We are more inclined to buy something if we can see how it may look. thats why most products have a serving suggestion.
