Question:

Choice of adverisements on Yahoo pages ... can anyone explain?

I'd really like to know if the advertisements that appear on our Yahoo pages are the same to everybody or are they chosen by age group, s*x, preferences?

My page constantly shows me a hideous woman with grey skin and decayed teeth, looks like a cadaver, she does! An anti smoking advert.

There are several adverts on diabetes drugs.

And more on face cream.

(hint, hint)

But seriously, I'm getting a bit bored with them ... do they have to be so darn morbid?

  1. I find the ones to the right of the questions I click on to be very funny at times they  try to line the add up to key words in the question, any it's given me a few laughs. ~ : )

  2. When I clicked on your question, I saw an ad offering me a chance to win something called a Sharp Aquos.  I have no clue what this thing is.   Usually when I ask a question, I get ads about Katrina recovery, house-gutting... that sort of thing.   The ads are definitely tuned in to who we are... Yahoo does tell us that they collect personal information from us.  It's in the small print, down near the bottom.
