Question:

Choices for college applications...? ?

I have reduced my college search to 25 schools, all that I'm very interested in. I've researched them well and have them in a list in order of my preference.

How many of each of the colleges should i apply to:

1. schools with a reputation for being "picky," where chance of getting in are low, but not impossible

2. schools that I have a pretty good chance of getting in to.

3. "back up" schools, just in case i don't get into any of my other choices.

  1. Well, how much money do you have? Most colleges have you pay a $50 fee for each application you make. So unless you have over $1,000 I would suggest narrowing it down again.

  2. I would apply to the top 50% of your list.

    1. Apply to all "picky" schools.  You never know what will happen and if you don't apply, you will DEFINITELY not be accepted.

    2.  Apply to all the schools you have a pretty good chance of getting into.  It's better to have a choice than to decide later you wanted to go somewhere else.

    3. Apply to a few of your backup schools.  You probably won't need these, but it's good to have a fallback.

  3. Do not apply to 25 schools.

Apply to a MAX of 12/13

    Break it up like 8-3-1or2
