Im afarid of not being clutch, just last week I lost in a playoff in a big tournament at my friends club. And in my club championship I made a double bogey and lost my club championship ( I ended up coming in 2nd place. Iwas up 1 heading into the final 36th hole). Then when I play in skins matches a couple times a month, I rarley seem to convert to make birdies and win a skin. Can any body help me with dealing with pressure? Im a low single digit handicap but, I just can seem to convert. Please help!

  1. Sounds like you need help with some sports pshycologist.  Have to try slowing down your tempo, keeping your focus, block out distractions, and forget about the implications of your putt, just focus on hitting it pure, and keeping the ball started on line.

Tiger's quote from US Open 2008 about his putt on the 72th hole to force Monday playoff: "I just thought of hitting it pure, if it goes in, great, and if it does not at least I gave it a good chance."

  2. That is the million dollar question, isn't it? Brother, any of us single-digit handicaps can sing the same song at any given time. I'm a 3.2 and I 4-putted twice in my club championship. It is brutal. Casually, I'm a good putter. I just think we are TRYING TO  HARD. It is just so hard to control human nature. And it is our nature to won't to do good, but this not a game that can be controlled like that. Just keep trying. It's all you can do.
