Chong Wei confident to overcome his loop poles to beat Chinese rivals – Badminton news
Lee Chong Wei, the World Number One shuttler from Malaysia, is confident to eliminate his loop poles to dominate the Chinese rivals including Lin Dan and Chen Long in the 2012 Olympic Games, which will be held in London from July 28 to August 5.
The Malaysian is currently working hard in training sessions for next month’s Korea Open Premier Super Series 2012, which will take place in Seoul, Korea, from January 3 to 8.
The 29-year-old Chong Wei, who has lost three matches in last three months to the Chinese youngster, Chen Long, insists that Dan is the only stumbling block in his way to win the Men’s Singles title at Olympic Games. The Malaysian is confident to overcome
the Long in the forthcoming tournaments.
Chong Wei played impressive badminton throughout the year and reached in 11 finals of different events. Out of 11, the incredible Malaysian won seven titles proving that he is the best in the arena of badminton.
However, the Malaysian failed to maintain his smashing form in the concluding months of current year because he got tired after remaining busy in a long and hectic year of top quality badminton.
While talking about his recent defeats from the hands of Long, Chong Wei explained that he was fatigued after remaining busy in the whole year.
He said, “I’m not worried at all about losing to Chen Long because I was fatigued after a gruelling year. Lin Dan will be my main obstacle because he has always had an edge over me.”
The World Number One wants to discuss the technical aspects of his game with his coaches and also willing to change his style of play if required.
He further said, “But I’m working on that and will discuss with my coaches whether I need to change my game to counter the Chinese duo. Winning the Olympics is a long cherished dream and I will readily accept all the help I can get to realise it.”
Now, what Chong Wei wants is the mental toughness to prove his worth at the Olympic Games. The event is just seven months away and he has started his work in training sessions to eliminate his weaknesses to win the coveted title in the mega event.
