Question:

Choose a Digital Certificate?

I own a website which has been programmed for me. We are just about to go live, and have installed ssl. When you press on checkout before entering personal and payment details a window pops up saying choose a digital certificate, neither my programmer nor the credit details housing people who issued the ssl can tell me exactly why. To get rid of this window and carry on with the purchase you can either press ok, or cancel or the red x at the top right hand side, it makes no difference - there are no digital certificates to see there.

Can someone please explain to me why this window is popping up and if it really is important to us?

Thanks.

  1. is it saying something along the way that the certificate and the domain/url doesn't match, if it is  that porbably is a default ssl certificate, the ssl certificate is a certifcate to authenticate that you are on the page, as well as encrypt your traffic so that anyone sniffing the network won't see your password, notice that when you click ok, the address bar and url are set to https instead of http, and theer is asmall lock on the lower right corner of your browser.
