  1. i have

    2 cockiteals

    1 quaker

    1 grey

    1 senegal

    1 cherry head con

    1 green cheek con

    1 sun con

and have had parakeets, a lin. parakeet, love birds, and jenday con.

out of all of these, some are adoptions and some are rescues. Then the rest are just ones we fell in love with when we saw them in the pet store out of all my birds the largest i have is the grey which i only got last monday (a week from today, she was a rescue). And she talks and yells and whistles, whispers, and rings the telophone. She has 11 years old and still has the capapility to learn much more, but they dont enjoy to much just lovin like getting petted. So thats a plus in my book. But honestly if you have never had a bird before you need to start small with like a cocketial, but out of all my birds that i have or had my smallest most enjoyable bird was a lin. parakeet, they cost about 200.00 for a little bird you may find that way out of your range but they are really good, can learn to talk, and mine did whistle, they are kind of the more fluffy version of a parrolet. the conures are happy little birds but i dont know of many that do learn to talk very well, my cherry head does the "hey cutie" whistle but thats it. and hes almost 1 1/2 yrs old. But my quaker, o my i love him he talks he whisltes, he purs when you touch him, he rings his bell if he is wanting attention. So i would never say dont get one of them, but make sure they are legal lol.  Then my last really good bird is a senegal, she is sweet but really dosnt like my dad or really any other men. But thats because she was abused....so... but when she wants petting she takes her foot scratches her neck and looks at you with her head turned sideways. she talks, telling my dog brady to come here. and then says the lil stuff like pretty bird, and zoey, and does her whistling.

    well i hope this helps

good luck on finding your new friend

  2. Conures can be very loud, but some, like mine, snuggle a lot and love to be petted.

I think a cockatiel sounds like a good pet for you.  They whistle, and are really cute.  You can find them fairly easily, too.

  3. hmm......... parakeets  are  good  if  you  dont  really want  to play  with them very  much  if  you  want  something  that you  would  play  with every  day than a  conure is  a  great  pet  to get =]

  4. Parakeet(budgie), lovebird, parrotlet, and/or cocktail.

  5. I personally love cockatiels.  In the past I have had budgies (parakeets) and cockatiels, and when they passed on I took a little break from pets for a while, but as of yesterday I am now a cockatiel owner again.  Cockatiels are great, they aren't too noisy and they love human interaction.  Budgies are great too but they aren't as calm as cockatiels seem to be.  If you do decide to get a cockatiel you can get two if you won't be able to devote at least 30 minutes a day to your bird, but it won't be as close to you.  If you get only one bird they will feel that you are their flock and they will bond more closely with you.  Also I'd recommend trying to buy a hand-raised cockatiel.  Hope this helps you.  P.S. cockatiels will learn to whistle tunes or whatever you whistle, and will even learn some words, but mainly males do this and females aren't as vocal

  6. mini macaws, conures (loud extept for green cheek) ,quaker, caques, lories, blue headed pionus, mexican red head, goffin cockatoo
