Choosing a primary school for second child?

Question

my head is wrecked,i cannot make a definite decision on which school to send my son too.we moved house two years ago and live 8km from the town.my first child started school in the town and has been happy there so i left her there as there was no place in the local schoo{which is just as far away but has a bus).my son who is due to start school in a few weeks has been accepted to both schools.the class in the town-he does not know anyone and has approx 50% non nationals in the class.his sibling has progressed nowinto the senior school which is in different grounds.i thought sending him to the rural school would be a winner because he knows children he went to playschool with,it is a smaller school and it seems very nice.my concerns are the car journey to bring them to the two schools is a 25km run.and getting them both to school on time.also i feel i would have more support from family friends asthey all live within proximity of the town.the two schools are 4km apart.is it maddness
