  1. THE HOSPITAL WILL MOST LIKELY START YOUR BABY ON ENFAMIL LIPIL, FROM THERE YOU CAN STICK WITH THAT AND SEE HOW THE BABY DOES...IF THE BABY IS GAINING WEIGHT THEN THE DOCTOR WILL NOT SUGGEST SWITCHING, BUT IF YOU FEEL THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG ,LIKE GASS AND FUSSINESS, OR SPITTING UP, OR LACTOSE INTOLERANCE THEN YOU MIGHT HAVE TO TAKE IT INTO YOUR OWN HANDS.. UNTIL THEN SIGN UP WITH ALL THE DIFFERENT FORMULA MAKES ONLINE SO YOU CAN GET COUPONS.. GOOD LUCK

  2. They advised me what was best while I was still in hospital and they supplied it and started me off on it then I continued with the same one when I went home. I use Aptamil by the way it was highly reccommended by the midwives and my boy has been doing great on it.

  3. i started breastfeeding but i changed to formula later and just used what my pediatrician recommended, which was good start.

we use good start natural cultures, it is the only formula my son tolerated well (i tried earth's best but he got really fussy on it) so i have stuck with good start natural cultures.

i don't know if there's any truth to their claim to help baby's immune system but my son is never sick (of course i think breastfeeding him for the first 5 weeks helped his immune system the most, you should really try to nurse for awhile if you can so the baby develops a strong immune system)

no i did not buy formula before

  4.    Well it seems like that two main formulas they use at the hospitals to start the babies are Similac and imphamel or however you spell it. My baby breastfeeds most of the time, but the imphamell makes her constipaded so we switched to similac and she seems to like it better. I guess you just have to see what works best with your baby.

  5. My brother had a baby before I did and his daughter was on S26 but when I put my son on it it made him throw up a lot, even the one that's for sensitive stomachs but it still was making him sick. I tried a few different brands that I'd heard were good and my friends said were good but the only thing that agreed with my sons stomach was the heinz nurture.

I think you should just get a heap of samples from different brands and try them out, when you find one that suits your baby, just stick with it.

Maybe go to a baby expo cause they're often giving out samples of formula.

  6. With my 1st child I used Enfamil Lipil with Iron.  My son did really well on it but it was also almost $25 per can.  Now for 2nd child I am using the target brand formula.  It is very close to similac and pretty much identical to Enfamil.  I like it cause she takes it very well and it is less than $12 per can.  When you are going through almost a can a week it can get pretty expensive quickly.  To let you know I only bought 1 can before the baby was born.  The reason for this is you never know how your baby will react to it so it is best not to have a lot on hand in case you have to switch formulas.  Then after finding out if the baby is okay with the formula I went out and stocked up like 5 or 6 cans.

  7. S26  works great everyone i know swears by it

  8. breast milk is best so if you can you should nurse. nursing will give the baby antibodies they don't get from formula. it also melts away your baby weight. if you can't nurse, choose the formula you are most comfortable with. if it doesn't suit your little one you will know immediately. gas and spit up are the most common symptoms. then you can change to a sensitive formula or even soy. on the buying before the baby is born, i would stock up on size one diapers and baby wipes but leave the formula for when your angel arrives in case the first formula choice is not the one you continue to use.

  9. Hi Mummy to be....

U shouldn't worry much at this stage because infants adapt quickly to anything they are introduced to,

In my case i had a slide problem i couldn't breastfeed well coz the baby wwouldn'tsuck he only did after two days and during that period he was introduced to one baby formular by the hospital...afterwards he started breatfeeding but still contunued with the formula..doctors usually recommend best baby formulas known to them.....But for now lets hope u wont even need baby formular remember breastfeeding is the best hey

Best of Luck........u and ur coming little Bambino!!.

  10. My son is on Goodstart with DHA and ARA..the orange can

He has always done well on it, and alot of young mothers I know are on it too. WIC gives this formula, and if there is a problem with the baby handling it then they will change it.

  11. my hospital recommended Enfamil Lipil with both kids and they have both done well with it.  it is the closet to breastmilk.
