If I play a FLOATING SHIELD-- "Enchant creature,

As Floating Shield comes into play, choose a color.

Enchanted creature has protection from the chosen color. This effect doesn't remove Floating Shield." -- if I choose black as the color and then attack with my enchanted creature (we'll make him a elf warrior), can my opponent block the elf warrior with his ASHENMOOR LIEGE(it takes 1 colorless and three black/red mana) I'm not sure how this works because my chosen color was black and the ASHENMOOR liege is black/red. How would you settle this little problem?

  1. ashenmoor leige is treaded as both black and red, however, it CAN still block your elf warrior, but it cannot deal any damage to it, so if the liege would kill the elf in such a way, it doesn't.

  2. Ashenmoor Liege is treated as a black AND a red creature all in one.  If you give your creature protection from a certain color, creatures of that color can't block it.
