Question:

Choosing right processor and Laptop brand between HP & Lenovo?

I am looking to buy a laptop. I looking for minimum 2.2 GHZ, 3 GB RAM, good bus speed, reasonable graphics card. My usage pattern will be daily home usage. I will be surfing over the net, watch movies online or DVD. No games. I am not able to decide on processor and brand

1) Can i go for AMD or Intel?(I am hearing some heating issues with AMD vs Intel)

2) Can i go for HP or Lenovo? (I am hearing some heating issues with HP & not a good customer service)

I am mainly looking for speed not space. Plus i am NOT looking for any low budget. But i will be nice to have something under $850-$900.

  1. I am an AVID AMD fanboy. The last few builds I have used exclusively Amd processors and ATI (amd) video cards, so I am a bit biased toward AMD. I have used Intel in the past however and the difference in pricing baffles me sometimes.

As far as what company to go with, i would say Lenovo. However , I have never dealt with Lenovo so I could not tell you what their csr's are like. I have had the unfortunate opportunity to deal with HP, and I would not recommend them.

  2. How about choosing the right section?

  3. Nike Bauer

  4. tgnut, the Lenovo/IBM people are great. (IBM software design, Lenovo designs the computers now) You call them up, they send you a box and you ship it via DHL free of charge if you're under warranty. They get it back to you quickly too.

I don't know all technical specs on computers though, so I won't try to tell you more then that. You might get better responses if you put this in computers though.
