Question:

Choosing the right bed?

I need some help in buying a new bed.

At the moment I have silver framed bed with a sprung mattress. I'm thinking of buying either a leather framed bed with a 7cm memory mattress, or, a divan bed with memory/sprung combined mattress.

What are the memory mattress's like? I have heard they work better on framed beds rather than divan as it needs air and they can get quite hot at times. Which would be more comfortable the memory mattress on the framed or divan bed? Should i get the combined memory/sprung mattress?

My local furniture store have gave me a price of £599 for divan bed with 70% memory mattress, is this a good price? Would there be more support with the divan bed therefore given a more comfortable night sleep than the framed bed?

I'm obviously looking to buy at a good price, any uk websites of genuine dealers that delivery to uk address would be much appreciated.

Thanks

  1. I'm sleeping on a memory foam mattress over here in America and I don't recommend it.  We've had our mattress for 4 years and after 2 years it became hard.  It kills my body, but as we paid over $2000 for it, I feel like I'd better keep it for a while longer. It is hot, you will definitely sweat.  Ours is on a frame with slats.  I don't think it gets any more air than if it were on a platform or on the floor.  Go with the bed that suits your taste and gets the best price.  I would strongly recommend going with the memory/sprung combined mattress.  Good Luck and sweet dreams!
