  1. what! $3 a week...are you serious! i'll be askin for like $15 to $20 a week or every two weeks....but $3 come one....and cleaning your house is more like a leason not a job.

  2. Honey come to my house to do all of that and I definitely would pay you $5 an hour because housekeepers around here get $10.  Why not ask your parent what they are willing to pay you for those chores?  They know what they can afford and you can decide if it is worth that amount.

  3. Wow! You're so cool. I'm trying to get more involved with the chores too. I don't get money for most of them, but I do have some experience to answer this question because I got my parents to pay me $3 a load of family laundry.

I would say that $5 a week is a good amount. Housekeepers would usually get paid around $10 a week to do that kind of stuff, but as your parents are on a budget, I think a little less would work out better. And since you've already done a good job doing chores, they will probably agree. Just pick a good time to talk to them about it, explain the benefits, and they will hopefully agree! Good luck!

  4. I would say 10 to 20 dollars a week, but if you're happy with $5, I'm sure they'd have no problem giving you that much.

  5. I think most people would want at least $10 per week.  A professional maid would charge $10 per hour.

I think it's really awesome of you to want to help out around the house, and if you really do all the things you said you will, you are certainly justifed in $5 per week.

  6. Sit down and talk to them and tell them if possible you could earn a allowance for doing weekly chores that they expect of you. Tell them what you said in your question and I know they will understand and help you with same. Ask and you will receive.

  7. Geez, I wish you were my kid!  You sound like a very caring young person.  How about you ask your mom and dad what they might pay you for a handful of chorses every week instead of an allowance.  It might not be the same ones every week.  For instance, they might not mind loading/unloading the dishwasher, but they hate to clean mirrors and windows.  Or running the sweeper twice a week, might be plenty.  Good luck.  When my son was young, I paid him $3.00 a week to take out the trash when needed and then get it to the curb once a week and bring the cans up after school.  As he got older and could do more things, I gave him a "raise" when he was old enough to shovel snow, cut grass, etc.  Good luck

  8. If you lived in my neighborhood, I'd pay you $5 a week to come in and do that for me.
