Choreographers: is it easier to mix the cd first then figure out the choreography or vice versa?

CD first! because the dance would be perfect for that! If you do the dance first, then it will take FOREVER to find a perfect song or mix of songs... btw im not a choreographer and I know that!

yeah. mix the cd first. it so much easier to choreograph with the music so you can try out different things with the music because sometimes what seems like the best idea in the world doesn't fit with the music

MIX THE CD FIRST!!  So much eaiser. This way you can practice with the cd. You can also change the way you mixed it if you think of a better sound.

Id mix first, because then you can figure every thing out rather than have to try and skip through certain parts all of the time and stuff....

Persdonally, I find I start by hearing a song, and thinkign of choreography as I hear it, but then I obviously have to tweak the peice so the choreography is practical.

i always get the music first...that way u can practice with it...and u kno wat the count and duration will b...it sux when u choreograph and then u realize wen u have the music that ur counts r wrong and u dun have as much time as u thought u have...
