  1. My children are 18, 15, 6, and 3. Rooms and trash are good but I also let them (help) with dishes and sorting clothes to wash since they were 2. Sweeping, vacuuming they love it, yeah, you might have to go over it with a 4 year old but the 8 year old can handle it. My kids have always liked help with cooking (cleaning as you go) also. now my 18 and 15 cook 2x a week for us. It is Great. By the way, 3 boys 6 year old is the girl.

  2. The proper chores for the younger range of your questions should be fairly simple and easily understood by the child (picking up and storing toys, putting dirty clothes in a hamper, putting shoes in the closet, etc.) I would not expect 4, 5 or 6 year olders to take out trash/garbage.

Chores for the older range of children could include some light cleaning (such as dusting) putting items away and, yes, even taking out light packages of trash/garbage).

  3. My 7 year old puts the clothes from the washer to the dryer and starts the dryer for me, she also dusts and cleans walls ( I don't know why she just likes to clean walls)

My 3 year old son does nothing to be honest he will help match socks at times but my little girl is more into stuff like that.

  4. wel lets see. for the four year old helping take things to the trash can and helping you set the table would be good. and for the eight year old, yes she can take out the trash. you can also have her help with the four year old if you work at home. they can also help clean, do the dishes, mop the floor, sweep the front porch (or back), and yes of course clean their rooms! hope i helped!

  5. The 4 year old can:

Feed any pets (with mommy or daddy's supervision)

    Help set table

    Help make beds

    Clean up play areas

    The 8 year old can:

    Clear table

    Unload dishwasher

    Clean windows (with supervision)

    Help with laundry

    Hope this helps!

  6. My 6 year old picks up his toys, and vaccums.  It might not be perfect, but it is done.  My 10 year old empties the dish washer, picks up her toys, and also vaccumes.  I even have them clean the toilets (they love using the scrub brush!).  They also have to bring thier laundry to the laundry room.  While you are cleaning up, have them "help" you by doing something.  When I am going to mop the floor I always ask them to do it.  After they are done, I go over it again.  I find that this way, before I get to it, all the dirt is loosened.

  7. Why do they have to take out the garbage?  Why do they have to do chores?  If you need a housekeeper hire a maid service.  Or did you have children in order to turn them into your personal slaves.  Children should be children, they should be taught to clean up after themselves but housework shouldn't be their responsibility.

  8. folding the laundry, washing dishes, vacuuming, checking the mailbox, raking leaves, helping with dinner.

  9. 4!! NO CHORES EXCEPT LIKE MABY PICKING UP HER/his toys!!

8-dishes!! Garbage!! NOT TO MUCH WE DONT WANT HER/HIM TO BE A SLAVE NOW DO WE!!

  10. hmmm

    lets see

4 yr old: help clear the table, help put the grociries away fold clothes w/mom or dad of course

8 yr old: help with the dishes clean the table and stove vacumm
