Chris Bosh, LeBron James, Carlos Boozer: NBA’s top players from May 22nd Eastern Conference Finals
Chris Bosh turns on the heat
Chris Bosh, the Miami Heat power forwards and perhaps the most underrated of Miami’s big-3 scored 30 points in the game-1 of the Eastern Conference Finals series against the Chicago Bulls. Heat lost that night. On Sunday night
in game-3, he erupted again. In yet another dazzling performance, the highly effusive forward scored a game-high 34 points and this time Miami Heat beat the Chicago Bulls 96-85 at the American Airlines Arena. Miami now leads the best-of-seven series 2-1.
Bosh was the real difference maker on the night, making 13-of-18 field goals despite missing his first few shots. Even the Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau praised the sizzling performance of Bosh and said, "Bosh was terrific right from
the start of the game, very aggressive. I thought we allowed him to get his confidence early. He is hard to close down once he gets going like that."
Bosh, sometimes the forgotten man of Miami's Big Three, provides spacing on the floor, allowing LeBron James and Dwyane Wade with more opportunities to attack the basket. The six times NBA All-Star was virtually a scoring machine
in the third quarter, scoring 13 of his points in the quarter.
LeBron James’ delivers in the clutch - again
LeBron James is the best player of his era, there is no doubt about it. What has been missing in his otherwise perfect scoring arsenal has been the ability to deliver in the clutch moments of the game. However after reviewing three
of his last four games, it seems that the Kings has finally slayed his demons.
With Bosh firing on all cylinders, LeBron took a back seat on Sunday night. The 26-year-old forward scored 10 points, five rebounds, and six assists in the first half as Miami headed Chicago 43-40 at halftime. He scored only two
in the third. But when the Bulls started to mount a comeback midway through the fourth, he simply tore them apart with a 10 point blitz that sealed the game and a 2-1 lead for the Heat. James added 22 points, a game-high 10 assists, and six rebounds in the
victory.
Team-high 26 by Carlos Boozer
The Bulls forward Carlos Boozer scored a team-high 26 points and a game-high 17 rebounds on the night. The Bulls’ most effective low-post weapon however struggled from the field, shooting 8-for-19. His 12 points in the third quarter
provided Chicago with an opportunity to cut the deficit to three, heading into the fourth quarter.
Derrick Rose delivers despite the shooting struggles
The Bulls’ guard Derrick Rose has been Miami’s main target in the series. However, the league MVP once again found his way to play his role in game-3, contributing 20 points on 8-of-19 shooting from the field. Rose also had five
assists and five rebounds in the losing effort.
