Chris Bosh: Miami Heat face uphill task after game 5 loss to Boston Celtics – NBA News
Chris Bosh has admitted that it is going to be a difficult job for the Miami Heat to come back in the series after the game 5 loss to the Boston Celtics at the American Airlines Arena.
He was talking to reporters after the game 5 loss;
“It’s going to be an extremely difficult time but that's what the playoffs are about. In order to get to where we want to go, we're going to have to face huge challenges and I think we are in the biggest challenge of our lives
right now, of our professional careers,” said Bosh.
Bosh returned for game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics. He had not played in the last 9 Miami games, after suffering a strained abdominal muscle during game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semi Finals
against the Indiana Pacers. Miami were looking forward to the return of Bosh to the lineup, as the All Star power forward provided them with scoring options while also opened up the defense with his interior presence, allowing teammates LeBron James and Dwyane
Wade to get easy looks.
His return however did not prove as the lucky charm for the Heat, as they lost a shocking game 5 at home to go down 2-3 in the series after winning the first two games. Miami now face elimination in game 6, which they will play
at the TD Garden, the backyard of the Boston Celtics.
Wade was also aware of the uphill task that lay ahead if Miami wanted to extend their season, and admitted that it would be a daunting task to defeat the Celtics at home before coming back to Miami for game 7.
"We normally respond really well to desperation. We are a confident team, we haven't won much in that arena but we won one last year that gives us the confidence that we can go up there and get the win," said Wade.
Bosh played 14 minutes in the game 5 loss to the Boston Celtics, and finished with 9 points and 7 rebounds. His rebounding effort helped Miami outrebound the Celtics 49-39. However, Bosh was limited in his availability for the
team and did not play in the crucial final stretch of the game.
Miami Coach Erik Spoelstra admitted that he had thought about getting Bosh back into the game in the final 3 minutes, but then decided not to do so as it seemed too much of a risk at that time.
Bosh said that he was willing to play more minutes in game 6;
"I definitely have more to give and I will be there. I'll be ready to play more than I played tonight," said Bosh.
