Chris Bosh believes Miami Heat have to own up to “The Decision” – NBA Update
A year on and LeBron James ill-fated “The Decision” is still making headlines. When LeBron left the Cleveland Cavaliers to join Miami Heat, and announced it via an one hour special live broadcast, it really did not have the desired
effect.
LeBron and his new teammates, especially Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, felt the glare of the public on them throughout last season. It was a season filled with adversity and ultimately ended in defeat at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks.
Chris Bosh however has now come forward to say that maybe mistakes were indeed made, the team now just needs to own up to them and look ahead,
“I say you own up to it. We all make mistakes. I think anybody would be kidding themselves if they thought they were perfect at anything. I mean why change it? We’ve already went through with everything. Whether good or bad, whether
it was a good decision or bad decision, or we should have done this, could have done that, if we would of done this. We are here now. Everything has happened, so let’s just own up to it. Yeah we did it. Yes. If it was a mistake? If I see it as a mistake and
here’s the reasons why, but here’s the reasons why it is going to help us in the long run.”
Bosh is not the first one to accept it though. LeBron has since admitted that if given the chance again he would have handled things differently. It didn’t help either that right after “The Decision” Miami’s newly formed Big Three
of LeBron, Bosh and Wade celebrated on stage without the season even having begun.
The Heat are now focused on putting all that behind them. Chris and his teammates hope that by the time the new NBA season begins, people would have forgotten about the past. Miami certainly have and Bosh believes they have put
it behind them.
He is fully concentrated on the upcoming season and on his own game. Bosh was criticized as well last season for not performing to a high enough standard. His numbers went down from his time at the Toronto Raptors but the forward
isn’t concerned about it.
Bosh knows that his role in a team that features the talents of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, arguably two of the top 3 players in the NBA, will not be the same as it was in Toronto. Chris is no longer the first option on offense
and he has to work to get his chances, although Miami do feed him a lot when there is a mismatch he can exploit.
The thing is, LeBron and Wade are mismatches for most of the players they come up against, so Bosh can’t expect to get too many looks overall.
