Chris Bosh believes the Los Angeles Lakers are the strongest team on paper – NBA Update
The Los Angeles Lakers put together one of the strongest teams during the summer by bringing in the likes of Dwight Howard and Steve Nash and no matter how much the Lakers haters try to play their championship chances down, there
can be no doubt that the Hollywood powerhouses are definite contenders for an NBA title in the coming season.
It is now a proven fact that having the best players on the roster does eventually pay off and one would have to look no further then the Miami Heat to realize the fact. Formed around LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, the
South Beach team managed to clinch the Larry O’ Brien trophy in the second year of the Big Three era.
Chris Bosh is an important part of that troika and knows all about the feeling. While giving a radio interview on Friday, Bosh acknowledged the Lakers to being one of the strongest teams in the NBA.
“The Lakers, I think, right now, I mean on paper, they probably have the best team in the West and probably the league right now,” Bosh said. “On paper. I’m saying on paper. But it’s a lot, a lot, it’s a long season. And the best
team always isn’t the one who starts out the season as the best team.”
The Lakers have four starters, three of whom are arguably the best in the league at their positions. They have the league’s best big man to play down low in the form of Howard while Nash, even at 37, is one of the best point guards
around.
These two combined with the already talented Kobe Bryant at the two-guard and a resurgent Pau Gasol really pack a powerful punch. The starting line up is completed with Metta World Peace who is known for his defensive prowess and
can knock down shots on a few occasions.
However as strong as they look on paper, there is no guarantee that success will come their way immediately. Success in a star studded team is achieved by working things out, paying attention to the details and developing on court
chemistry, something Miami have done by growing as a team in the past two years.
The Lakers need to follow that script keenly if they are to make an immediate impact.
