Miami Heat forward highly appreciative of what the New York Knicks have done over the summer....
There is no doubt that the New York Knicks are heading into next season with huge expectations on their shoulders to finally perform at a level befitting the talent on board.
However they have gotten little recognition for how they have gone about their business over the summer. Rather, they have been at the receiving end of criticism - which they certainly did not deserve - after the departure of Jeremy
Lin to the Houston Rockets.
On top of making good roster changes, they also have had to cope with propaganda of the newly formed Brooklyn Nets, who already claim to be the best team at the Big Apple. Amidst, all their problems, the Knicks did a pretty good
by bringing in Raymond Felton, Marcus Camby and Jason Kidd during the off-season. However, despite the team getting stronger in a lot of ways, the criticism for adding veterans to their roster and moving towards an older direction soon followed.
Among all the critiques though, there have been a few who like where the Knicks currently stands. Former NBA star and an all time great Shaquille O’Neal still considers them the team to beat in New York and joining the appreciators
is Chris Bosh, who in a recent interview termed Knicks as a very good side;
“I just want to say — the freakin’ Knicks, man,” Bosh said, “I think they’re going to be a good team.”
The Miami Heat big acknowledged the fact that the Knicks have not received their due for an excellent off-season, which has made them even more formidable;
“Nobody’s really talking about them, and I don’t like it,” Bosh said, “They’re flying under the radar right now.”
There is no doubt that the Knicks have a very strong line up. However, in order for the Knicks to have a genuine chance at making a deep run into the playoffs, they will need the best out of Carmelo Anthony, who alone is going
to decide where this team finishes come the end of the season.
Sure, Amare Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler will have their roles to play for the Knicks, but for their title aspirations to come true, Anthony will have to be on the same level of intensity he brought during the gold medal run at
the London Olympics.
