Chris Bosh expects his role to change following the arrival of Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis – NBA News
After winning the NBA Championship for the second time in their franchise history last season, Miami Heat are continuously looking to bring in new recruits and form an even stronger roster for next season.
Miami were already a very good three point shooting team last season and with the two new additions in Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis, they can further improve on their exploits from beyond the arc.
Following the arrival of the two veterans, who rank among the all time greatest long range shooters, Chris Bosh’s role in the team is going to change definitely for next season.
These new additions to the already versatile three point shooting unit will allow Bosh more freedom and will encourage him to take a more prominent role inside the paint, a fact he had seen coming.
"I think we're there, I knew it was coming eventually." – Bosh.
The Miami forward showed his range, particularly in the closing stages of last season, during which he went to shoot several key three pointers. He has now vowed to work on his post game during the summer, a role he had been much
familiar with during his days with the Toronto Raptors.
"I'm really going to work on being a good inside presence," Bosh said. "And just get better at it."
The power forward also recognized the effort made by the Miami management to improve the roster from next season;
"The first step you take as a champion is to get better," Bosh said. "I think with Ray Allen, everybody knows about his shooting ability. Rashard Lewis can shoot it as well, but I think Rashard will be a good presence because he
kind of played that system out in Orlando for a while. It's similar to how we play. He can just come in and fit in."
At the moment, Bosh has his eyes set on making a full recovery for the abdominal injury. He is very happy with the progress he has made in the rehabilitation process. This particular injury caused him to sit out nine games in the
post season and eventually led to his decision of withdrawing himself from the Team USA Olympic roster.
